A hole-in-the-wall where locals come as families for traditional foods like poi (bitter taro puree -- an acquired taste) and laulau (proteins wrapped in thick layer of taro leaves). Definitively not touristy. It's a way to experience authentic foods. The laulau contained massive chunks of fat and the place could do with some cleaning, from stains to torn seats. This location is in a light industrial area so it's not great to walk to from the city. Drive and park right in front.

Laulau is the best here! Poi was fresh and poke was ono!!! Was not impressed with kalua pig. Go early because they run out of stuff by dinner time. They even ran outta rice when we went for dinner. There is seating, but booths are looking kinda rough.

A down to earth local lunch place. What the food lacks in presentation it more than makes up for by being delicious and hearty. The beef stew is great, and Big Al's "small" bento is packed with meat and veg.

Had the Hawaiian combo plate. Laulau and kalua pig were good as poi and lomilomi was also. A little pricey, fast and friendly service. I came back for lunch with a friend. Ordered the laundry laundry plate w/poi and a squid luau. Good size lau lau and poi. Pipi kaula was delicious and sweet potato was tasty. I enjoyed the squid luau. My friend lives the tripe stew. Young Fish Market is still on of the best places for Hawaiian food. My dad used to go to the original one on liliha Street. Go check them out.

Older and a little run down this place is the real deal! Great Kalua Pork! Service is moms and pops but friendly and what it should be for the atmosphere. Menu selections and food all on point ! This place is not fine dining this is Hawaiian Soul Food at its best.

Best spot on Oahu for Hawaiian food, the pipikaula is very good, as well as the laulau and kalua pork. it’s connected to a shopping center too, so you can get fresh boba nearby for dessert or taro donuts from kam bakery nearby.

For realz, my favorite Hawaiian food place. It's always between the big Al's bento or the beef stew plate. Either way, no can go wrong. If you never ate here.... you missing out.

Their chicken long rice was a disappointment because the broth and chicken did not have a good flavor. The haupia has very little coconut flavor and tasted more like gelatin.
